FAYETTEVILLE, TN - The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be making its third appearance in series history during the 37th Annual Alabama State Championships at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL., Saturday & Sunday September 26-27 for a pair of 40 lap $4,000 to win events.
The series started sanctioning the super late model portion of the Alabama State Championships in 2013 with Chris Madden and Shane Clanton taking the wins, and then in 2014 Clanton took the win again along with Randy Weaver.
The 2015 version of the Alabama State championship should be another year of great racing as last year in the Sunday finale the battle for the top spot was three wide at times between, Weaver, Madden & Clanton.
Drivers that are expected to be in action this weekend include current Southern All Star points leader Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., current Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com rookie of the year leader Dillon Tidmore of Glencoe, AL., Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN., Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., Jake Knowles of Rome, GA., Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC., Tyler Crowder of Lamont, FL., Ricky Culpepper of Hamilton, GA., Gar Dickson of Flintstone, GA., Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala, FL., Patrick Michelle of Bellchase, LA., Mack McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN., Cale Simons of Leesburg, GA., and Chris Jones of Alabaster, AL., just to name a few.
Action gets underway with Southern All Star practice on Friday night, then Saturday Southern All Star action begin at 6:45 pm with hot laps, White Performance Qualifying, PPM Racing Products B Mains and a 40 lap main event. Another complete program will also be run on Sunday using the same format with time announced during the day as to when the Southern All Star action will begin.
