MARYVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will make it’s second stop of the 2015 season Saturday night September 19th at the Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, TN., for the King of the Mountain Fall Classic sponsored by East Tennessee Auto Outlet. The 40 lap event for the Southern All Star Late Models will pay $5,000 to win.
Also on the nights festivities will be the induction into the Smoky Mt Speedway Hall of Fame which will take place during intermission, as in the past, nominees were broken down into three different categories: drivers, contributors, and those from the track’s asphalt era.
This year’s class for the driver category is Lamar Winkle, Marion Tipton, and Snook Defoor. There were an unusually high number of nominees in the contributor category, so two nominees were elected. Those are Connie Boring and Larry Jones. The asphalt era inductee is Randy Bethea.
As for racing action the Southern All Star drivers will be led by two time series champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., as well as Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.con Rookie of the year Dillon Tidmore of Glencoe, AL., four time series winner Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN., Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., and Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS. , are all expected to be in action Saturday night.
Other drivers that are expected include Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN., Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN., Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC., Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN., Donald McIntosh of Blairsville, GA., Roger Best of Maryville, TN., Mark Douglas of Knoxville, TN., Jeff Wolfenbarger of Powell, TN., Mark Vineyard of Knoxville, TN., plus many more.
Pit gates will open at 2 pm with drivers meeting at 6 pm and hot laps at 6:45 pm, other divisions that will race include Sportsman & Street Stock.
