COEBURN, VA - After a season full of action-packed racing, the 2015 race season is set to come to a close this Saturday. Sept. 19 at Lonesome Pine Raceway.
Food City Championship Night will wrap up the season with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car division highlighting the night. Modified Street, Pure 4, Mod 4, Rookie Pure 4 and Pure Street divisions will also be in action for the final time this year.
Heading into the final race, multiple championships still remain undecided. Wayne Hale currently leads the LMSC standings by five points over Kres VanDyke and Greg Bohannon Jr. with Lance Gatlin holding at 18 points back in fourth-place. Jared Broadbent holds a 16-point lead over Rob Austin in the Modified Street division. Dan Hall (Pure 4), William Hale (Rookie Pure 4) and Nasty Jones (Pure Street) have all tied up their championships as the final races approaches.
Grandstands open at 4 PM, qualifying begins at 6 PM, fan appreciation and an on-track autograph session begins at 6:25 PM, and the final race of the season gets underway at 7 PM. Adult admission is $10 with children 12-and-under admitted free.
On Friday, Sept. 18, the Food City Rev It Up Party will take place at the Coeburn (Va.) location. The event will begin at 5 PM and wrap up at 7 PM. Open practice will follow at the track until 9 PM.
