FAYETTEVILLE, TN - The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will make its second stop of the 2015 season this Saturday night August 1st at Lennie Buff’s Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC., for the Stick Elliott Memorial 50 lap $5,000 to win event.
The series ran earlier in the year at the Cherokee Speedway with the annual March Madness event that was taken by three time series Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN. “We always enjoy our time at the Cherokee Speedway” said Lynn Acklin GM for the series. “Lennie and his staff do a great job at Cherokee Speedway and we are very proud to be a part of the history that has long been at Cherokee Speedway and honored to be back as the sanctioning body for the Stick Elliott Memorial.”
The series is ending a three weekend run as it will be in three different states over the last three weekends, Bub McCool took the Governors Cup at Magnolia (MS), and Riley Hickman won the Michael Head Jr Memorial at Talladega (AL) last weekend and this Saturday at Cherokee.
Riley Hickman will lead the expected Southern All Star drivers into the event as the points leader with Weaver right behind him in the second spot, third place is Dillon Tidmore of Glencoe, AL., who is also the leading Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com rookie of the year, Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., David Seibers of Petersburg, TN., Leon Henderson of Laurel, MS., Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL., plus many more Drivers from around the Carolina region that are expected to be in action include, Chris Ferguson, Ross Bailes, Kelly Guy, Brent Dixon, Donald Bradsher and Kevin Godwin plus more.
Pit gates will open at 5pm Southern All Star tech & registration will also open then, drivers meeting is set for 7pm with hot laps to follow.
