Berry Returns to Victory Lane in Round 2 of the Paramount Kia "Big 10" Racing Challenge

March 31, 2015

Even an early spring cold snap couldn’t stop the racing action from heating up at Hickory Motor Speedway as the Paramount Kia “Big 10” Challenge would return for Round #2  of the 10 race series.
Josh Berry in the JR Motorsports #88 would return to NASCAR’s Most Famous Short Track and would claim the pole in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Bojangles Late Models. Lining up to his outside would be the #7 of Ashley Huffman,  Dexter Canipe Jr. in the #5 and and Jacob Harrell in the #67 would occupy row 2 for the start.
Berry would jump to the early lead as the green flag waved, while battles would rage for positions throughout the field. Canipe would make his way by Huffman and begin to challenge Berry in the early laps. The #00 of Shane Lee would move by Canipe and set his sights on Berry next.

Huffman would eventually make a late race pit stop for adjustments and wind up sixth. The battle for third would also feature some tight racing late in the event with Landon Huffman in the #75 working his way around Canipe Jr. in the closing laps to take the position, Canipe would wind up fourth. Matt Piercy in the #25 would start shotgun on the field but would methodically work his way towards the front to complete the Top 5.
The T-Mobile Limiteds would see their first repeat winner of the year as the #77 of Travis Byrd would cross the line first bringing home the trophy once again. Winner of the previous race, the #2 of Zach Bruenger would continue his hot streak and finish second. Rounding out the top 5 would be the #7 of Dylan Ward, the #51 of Jeremy Pelfrey, and Mitch Walker in the #29.
The Street Stocks would have a first time winner for this year as the #22 of Dan Moore would take his first checkered flag and visit Victory Lane. Kevin Eby in the #03 would get a hard fought second after getting by outside pole sitter in the #2 of Charlie Neill as the laps wore down. The #64 of Marshall Sutton would also slide by Neill late in the race to bring home the 3rd position. After hard fought battles with Moore, Eby, and Sutton, Neill would cross the line in fourth. The runner-up at his last race, the #18 of Cody DeMarmels brought home another good finish, as he would end up fifth.
The #8 of Kenneth Roberts paced the field in qualifying and also took the checkers in the race for the Wrench Rags Renegades. Roberts would hold off a hard charging Blake Walker in the #09. Walker, the winner of the last Wrench Rags Renegades race, would have his hands full with the #6 of Darren Dickinson, but would bring home the runner-up position leaving the 3rd finishing position to Dickinson.
