Southeast Super Truck Series Set to Invade Kingsport Speedway

KINGSPORT, TN - Kingsport Speedway is going trucking this Saturday, May 7 when the Southeast Super Truck Series comes to town. The Southeast Super Truck Series will headline the night with a 75-lap feature. Also taking on “The Concrete Jungle” will be the Southeast Super Stock Series, Carolina Vintage Racers, Pure 4, and Mini Cup. Kingsport Speedway will be the fourth stop this season for the series. “We always enjoy heading up to Kingsport,” said Jeff Myers, series owner. “Our drivers in all series and divisions always put on a great show there.” Grandstand gates open at 4:00 PM, qualifying begins at 5:00 PM, the on-track autograph is set for 6:15 PM, and racing gets underway at 7:00 PM. Adult grandstand admission is $12, seniors $8, children 6-to-12 $6, and children under 6 are admitted free. The speedway has undergone four surface changes in its 50 years of existence. Founded has a dirt track in 1965, the speedway transitioned to an asphalt track in 1969, back to a dirt track in 1984, and then to its current concrete surface in 1996. In 1968, Kingsport Speedway hosted its first NASCAR event. Currently, Kingsport Speedway is part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS), NASCAR’s grassroots series. The NWAAS sanctions nearly 60 racetracks throughout the United States and Canada in which drivers compete for national, state, and track titles.
