ANGOLA, IN - The final race of the 2015 racing season for the Broaster Chicken ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour will see the Southern Division teams end ICAR's 27th year with the most prestigious Modified race in the country; The 10th Annual Run for the Gun 50 Presented by Genuine Broaster Chicken, part of the 44th Running of the Winchester 400 Weekend. The ICAR South teams will headline the night during the traditional weekend on Saturday, October 10th at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway (IN). ICAR South Points Leader, Brian Nester, the all-time career winningest driver in ICAR's 27-year history is, ironically, in search of his first career ICAR Championship. The Hamilton, Indiana veteran, who leads all drivers in career wins, top fives, top 10s and laps led, needs to only take the Green Flag for the Run for the Gun 50 and the 40-year-old driver of the familiar #11 Burkett-Nester Racecars machine will clinch that long sought after championship. So far in 2015, Nester has scored four victories to add to his all-time career leading wins total, 27 trips to victory lane. Two of Nester's wins have come at his home track of Baer Field Speedway (IN) on May 23rd and August 1st with one of those wins an ICAR South race while the second was a combination event pitting the North and South contingents against each other. Two of his four triumphs have come in combination races with the second of those in the Hot Shoe 100 at Whittemore Speedway (MI) on August 8th. He also has an ICAR North win as well, which came at Berlin Raceway (MI) on Tuesday, June 16th during the prestigious Battle at Berlin 251 with the ARCA/CRA Super Series. In addition, Nester is also a former two-time winner of the Run for the Gun as he took home the prestigious Winchester rifle in back to back seasons in 2011 and again in 2012. M.P.H. Promotions Rookie of the Year point's leader, Trei Deubel has already clinched the top freshman honors in ICAR South for the 2015 racing season. The DeWitt, Michigan also has one win, which came at Angola Motorsport Speedway (IN) on June 6th. Terry Fisher Jr., went to victory lane during the prestigious World Stock Car Festival at Winchester on Labor Day Monday, September 7th and is also the 2013 Winner of the Run for the Gun. Travis Eddy and Tyler Nuckles have wins in the other two combo races with Eddy's checkered flag happening at his home track of Dixie Motor Speedway (MI) on August 7th and Nuckles first career win coming at his home track, Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) on September 13th. Howell, Michigan veteran, Greg Fullarton, the only full-time driver who has raced both the North and South schedules in 2015, is third in ICAR South points heading into the Run for the Gun 50. Fort Wayne, Indiana's Bud Adams, armed with three Fast Qualifier awards in 2015, is fourth in points and like Fullarton, is looking to end the 2015 season on a high note and the coveted Winchester rifle. 2014 ARCA Truck Series Champion, Danny Jackson is also in search of his first ICAR victory and is fifth in points heading to Winchester. Other former winners of the Run for the Gun 50 include reigning race victor from 2014, Kyle Purvis. In addition, Mike Stacy posted his triumph in 2010 while Brad Springer took home his Winchester rifle in 2009. Ross Klingelhofer picked up the victory in 2008 while 2005 Tour Champion, Harold Scott was the winner in 2007 and his son, 2004 Tour champion, Rodney Scott scored the win in the inaugural running of what has become one of the most popular events for open-wheeled Modifieds back in the 2006 season. The 10th Annual Run for the Gun 50 Presented by Genuine Broaster Chicken Entry Form is still available and Due at the ICAR Home Offices as soon as possible.
