Hickory Motor Speedway will resume racing on Saturday July 11th for Smokeys Wrecker Service Night at the Races.

Gates will open at 5 with racing action at 7.

NEWTON, NC - There will be fireworks in the sky after the race but some of the rivalries could create on track sparks as well as the entry list continues to grow for the 2nd annual “Firecracker 125” presented by KOMA Unwind at Hickory Motor Speedway this Friday, July 3rd. Heading the list of drivers is last year’s winner, Zack Brewer from Winston-Salem, NC. Brewer pilots the Scott Rigney owned #31. Brewer’s timely pit strategy gave him the advantage he needed to edge runner-up Burt Myers last July. Burt Myers, the current series point leader, will return to try to improve his finish by one spot and try to complete the sweep of the Hickory races this year. Brewer hopes to stand in his way. Also on the entry list are KOMA Unwind Modified Madness Series regulars Jason Myers, Dan Speeney, Mike Norman, Tom Buzze, Spencer Davis, Jeremy Mayfield and Danny Propst. Several new faces to the series will dot the lineup this week with Brandon Ward making his first series start along with Kyle Bonsignore, fresh off a solid third place finish in May at Concord Speedway. Darren Shaw will fill the seat of the P.S Racing #17 and Jason Tutterow returns to the seat in the #33. Bowman Gray regulars John Smith, the “Mayberry Bullet”, and Jonathan “Bo Bo” Brown make their first 2015 series starts along with Richmond, VA’s A. J. Winstead. Will Smith and Brown continue their skirmish from last week at BG. Mod Light division regulars include the current leader of the Mod Lights, Jimmy Wallace along with the March Hickory Mod Light winner, Drew Moffitt and newcomer “Ridge” Klimarchhk. Qualifying for this special Friday night event at Hickory Motor Speedway gets under way at 6:00 PM followed by a big autograph session for all divisions at 6:45 PM.
