FAYETTEVILLE, TN - The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be back in action Saturday night June 20th at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL., and that night it will honor the man who started and built the Southern All Stars B J Parker. Parker started the series back in 1983 with a group of drivers and a few tracks that ran on off nights as not to take away from the weekend show. After a very successful first season that was all that was needed into what has becomes the longest running dirt late model series in the country over 32 years and that why we are honoring the founder B J Parker with a 42 lap $4,200 to win event. The 42 laps coincides with Parker’s race car number as well as the first the first place money. Parker had many influences on the drivers as well as the people that worked around him. He was a promoter that was looking after the Saturday night racer, as he wanted to offer those guys a bigger paying race and take a few of them on the road to show other parts of the south drivers they might now normally see, as for people in the industry many of them called upon Parker for advice and input and many of the traveling dirt late model series that we now have were based off what Parker envisioned as well as the staffs that are operating them. Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., will lead the Southern All Star drivers into event as he is looking to better his point lead over the second place driver in points Dillon Tidmore of Glencoe, AL., who is also leading the Cruise with the Champions/ rookie of the year title. Fourth place driver Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., is also expected to be in action as well as Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN., and Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., Drivers that might be in action include David Seibers of Petersburg, TN, Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL., Lavon Sparks of Phenix City, AL., and Josh Putnam of Florence, AL. Talladega Short Track drivers that may be in action include, Douglas Stewart, Tim Roszell, Jason Wilson, Adam Martin, Terry Smith, Terry Smith, Tim Busha and Danny Peoples. Pit gates open at 4pm with drivers meeting at 6:30pm and hot laps to follow. TIRE RULE: Hoosier 1350-1450-1600-21-55-Lucas 03-05-06-LM30-LM40-70
